The 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance®
marks the 60th year of this grand event. With Jaguar marking its 75th anniversary the two icons of automotive excellence are again together and forever intertwined. Jaguar has always been an important car taking many high profile positions during the Concours's 60 years. It is now the 2010's featured marque.

With Jaguar in many ways taking us back to the events earliest days, Chairman Emeritus Jules "J." Heumann noted, "The earliest Pebble Beach Concours had a special feeling; it was all new, and everyone participated with great gusto and style, People brought carpets and silver candelabras for picnicking and it wasn’t uncommon to see folks wearing cutaway coats and morning trousers." Mr. Heumann has attended every Pebble Beach Concours to date.

The 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will pay tribute to Alfa Romeo, celebrating their centennial. Showcase vehicles ranging from a 1910 A.L.F.A. 24 HP to the just-unveiled Alfa Romeo Pandion show car created by Bertone. Also a display of rarely seen cars from the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo (the Alfa Romeo Museum) in Arese, Italy, 1938 8C 2900 B Lungo; 1938 Gran Premio Tipo 158 "Alfetta". Private cars includes, 1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Bertone Coupe; 1948 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Competizione 2 Seat Coupe and a 1936 Alfa Romeo 8C2900A Carrozzeria Alfa Spider.

Leonardo Fioravanti is special guest, and featured Designer at 2010 event. He has designed more Ferraris than any other person, and include such legendary models as the Dino, Daytona, 308GTB, 308GTS, and the 288GTO.

Concorso Italiano® will also have Designer Tom Tjaarda in attendance this year as special guest and honorary judge. Mr. Tjaarda's designs covers a wide array of cars with famous names like; DeTomaso's Pantera, Deauville and Longchamp. Also the Pininfarina Corvette Rondine, Fiat 124 Spider, Ferrari 330 2+2 Coupe and 365 GT California Spider.

The Ferrari F40 Reunion Group
to join Concorso Italiano in celebrating 20 Years of the Ferrari F40 in the USA. This is the second reunion of Ferrari supercars to be held at Concorso. The first Ferrari supercar, the 288 GTO held its 25th anniversary reunion at Concorso in 2009. A world record was set by the GTO owners for the largest gathering of 288 GTO's in one location. The 288 successor is the iconic F40. The Concorso will host the F40 owners for their reunion, and spokesman and owner Jas Dhillon, notes they have aspirations to; "Our goal is to have well over forty F40s on the fairways at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch this August 13th and we hope that fans and enthusiasts will plan to join us for this historic occasion."

America's longest continuously running Concours, Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance
The Bay Area's Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance is relocating their54th annual event and there is also a new date!

"On September 12th, 2010, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Town of Hillsborough (California) as well as the Centenary of Alfa Romeo!

After 53 years at the same location, we are delighted to announce that we are moving our event to the glorious 18th fairway of the Crystal Springs Golf Course just off highway 280 in the San Francisco Bay Area - Crystal Springs Golf Course : Championship caliber golf overlooking Crystal Springs Reservoir."

The Inaugural Sonoma Marin Concours d' Elegance The concours was held at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, California on May 17th. This is a beautiful location. It was a hot, but beautiful day. There were 180 classic cars on display, and many visitors to enjoy the beauty of these classics. Among one featured was a 1929 Duesenberg. There were many rare vehicles to admire. The judging was different than most concours events. Convertibles could be shown with the tops down. Trunks were closed. There was no testing of electrical, and the engines were not started. The undercarriage was not judged. The judges were interested in the history of the vehicles. It was a great inaugural event for the Marin Sonoma Concours d' Elegance. It really was a nice concours, although we prefer the usual concours judging. I should mention that the "Goody Bag" was very impressive. The best we have ever seen. An unusual flashlight/tool kit, bottle of wine, CD, Hard-bound excerpt of a novel, polishing items and cloths, etc.

Hillsborough Concours, May 3, 2009, is the longest continually running car show west of the Mississippi. This is the 53rd year, and will acknowledge the engineering innovations of German manufacturers in the Post-War period.

My name is Tom McDowell. I recently acquired the Concorso Italiano from Jack and Leslie Wadsworth. For many years, the Concorso has been a trend setting show with many traditional aspects that all have anticipated and enjoyed each year. We plan to return Concorso to a beautiful golf course on the peninsula in 2009. A classic car should always be displayed on a green lawn. The venue will be agreed upon shortly.
