The Edsel was a marque of the Ford Motor Company during the 1958, 1959, and 1960 model years.
The adverse public reaction to the car's styling and conventional build was a result of the cars failure to be an entirely new kind of car as Ford had led consumers to expect. The Edsel shared its bodywork with other Ford models. Ford announced the end of the Edsel program on November 19, 1959
