Cité de l'Automobile, Musée national de l'automobile, Collection Schlumpf is an automobile museum located in Mulhouse, France, and built around the Schlumpf Collection of classic automobiles. It contains the largest and most comprehensive collection of Bugatti motor vehicles in the world.
In the 1964 December issue of 'Sports Car Graphic' magazine David M. Gulick reported that he came upon an amazing site; Thirty Bugattis being loaded onto railway cars. What he had chanced upon was the massive Bugatti collection of John Shakespeare, which had been purchased by French collector Fritz Schlumph, being loaded for the first leg of a journey to France.
