Jensen Interceptor III 1973
Concorso Italiano
Monterey Bay Area, California 2007

The Jensen Interceptor was designed by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan at the behest of Jensen.

The above car is a saloon, LHD, from 1973, which was the best year for this car. There were roughly 300 LHD cars built out of a total of 1200. It has a 440 Chrysler engine with a single 4-barrel carburetor and TorqueFlite transmission. This car has an extremely rare aftermarket sliding metal sunroof, which was probably added by the dealer (who was also the owner and importer at the time), Kjele Qvalle of San Francisco. The car new cost around $16,000 - an absolute ton of money at the time.

Jensen Healey

These racy little Jensens are fast, well balanced and nimble. These also are a very low production car with quite an interesting international story. The original intention was to make a high level of technical spec and clever engineering available to a larger market at a more reasonable price. It was not to be. More... pdf

Jensen P66 Prototype 1965

The P66 was a model planned by Jensen Motors which was aborted after two examples were made and one exhibited at the 1965 London Motor Show. It was planned to replace the Austin-Healey 3000, which at that time, Jensen was assembling at their factory in West Bromwich. BMC was planning to drop the Healey after 1967 and Jensen asked Eric Neale, their house stylist, to design a replacement for the US market. In a break from their recent tradition of using fiberglass bodies, he proposed an aluminium body on a steel platform and tube chassis. The optional engine continued to be a 6.2 litre Chrysler V8 similar to that used in the contemporary CV8, and would probably have been renamed as an Interceptor if it had been put into production. The original first prototype convertible was soon broken up, and the first hardtop sold off. The second, hardtop has survived and has been used regularly; following a thorough rebuild. It won top honors in the 'Classic & Sports Car' Club Awards at the 2015 Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show...
