Race Highlights

Jordan Taylor wins Second Straight event in the Daytona Prototype championship race Lally, Potter, First in GT ; Tremblay, Long Win In GX.

The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series 2013 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was the debut for both Aston Martin and Lotus. The No. 66 Paypal/HP Aston Martin Vantage for TRG-AMR, with Brandon Davis and Darren Turner at the wheel, placed 10th in GT.

Scott Dollahite and Jeff Mosing in the No. 11 Lotus Evora took third in GX.

Tom Long and Sylvain Tremblay took their third GX victory in the No. 70 Mazdaspeed/SpeedSource Mazda 6

Jim Norman co-driving with Spencer Pumpelly in the No. 38 BGB Motorsports Porsche Cayman scored his eighth consecutive second-place finish and now leads Joel Miller by 11 points in the GX standings.

The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series 2013 is ten races over different and challenging tracks and this concept has produced one of the closest championship battles in its history.

The last 2 races will decide winners out of the top-10 competitors for the Daytona Prototype championship and they will be run on the most historic tracks in the US. Mazda at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California and Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

The Rolex Series expanded to a three-class format for 2013 and all 3, will be hotly contested this weekend.

Sunday's race is the one-year anniversary of Scuderia Corsa's entry into the Rolex Series GT class. The No. 63 Ferrari 458 Italia of Alessandro Balzan and two-time GT champion Leh Keen will be strong contenders.

The Mazda at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca start marks the debut of Aston Martin in the Rolex Series GT class. TRG-AMR North America will field its No. 66 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. TRG-AMR has moved over from Porsche.

Also new at the starting line is the No. 11 SDR/Lotus Racing Lotus Evora set to debut in the GX class with pilots Scott Dollahite and Austin GX winner, Jeff Mossing.

For the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge has with three teams tied for the lead with 212 points apiece.

For 2014, rules are being developed to allow for the exploration of a wide variety of alternative technologies and alternative fuels. Some configurations being looked at include turbocharged engines; fuels other than gasoline, such as clean diesels; and hybrid powertrains. As the American Le Mans series closes, a new group is set to take up the banner for advancing technology in racing.
