The 2013 Revival to Pay Tribute to Motor Racing Legend Jim Clark
The 2013 Goodwood Revival's annual driver tribute will be to Jim Clark, celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first of two Formula 1 World Championship victories.

A daily parade on the Goodwood Motor Circuit of some of Jim Clark's most famous cars to show honor of his life and the racing achievements of this true champion and legend of racing. In Clark's brief career he raced single-seaters, sports, GT and saloon cars. In the 1966 RAC Rally in a Lotus-Cortina Clark went about setting fastest stage times.

Clark won the F1 World Championship in 1963, driving a Lotus 25, and in the 1964 he won the British Saloon Car Championship in a Lotus-Cortina. Then in 1965 in a Lotus 38, he won the Indianapolis 500.

But in 1968 the quiet Scot's end came in a tragic racing accident that has been attributed to a 'part' failing on his F2 car on 7th of April while racing at Hockenheim.

Classic Four-Door Fun at the 2013 Revival
There will be two races for classic saloon cars like, Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Coupe, Mini Cooper S, Jaguar Mk2, BMW, Lotus Cortina, Ford Galaxie 500 Fiat Vauxhall and Isuzu.

For the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy Celebration race three Ferrari 250 LMs will competing for the first time in 13 years and three 250 GTOs are set to be there along with the usual mix of Aston Martins, AC Cobra, Jaguars and so on.

In addition to famous cars there will be famous drivers, like Touring Car legend Steve Soper, Formula 1 racer Mark Blundell, Kenny Brack, James Martin, Jackie Oliver, Anthony Reid, Stuart Graham, BMC Mini Works rally driver Rauno Aaltonen, World Touring Car Champion Rob Huff, Le Mans legends Tom Kristensen, and Derek Bell.

The Goodwood Revival is not just about cars and cars going fast, it is a stept back in time. The theme also expands to the attendees. Those who take part also have to be in period dress. The attending ladies like to get into the spirit and create their own unique Goodwood Revival outfits making all the more show. This year one can create one's own Goodwood Revival eras (1940s, 50s and 60s) outfit by attending a workshop based in Charlton, Chichester in West Sussex )

The Goodwood Revival is ready to happen and setting things up has begun. As The Revival is about cars, getting cars onto the track and running them about is very important. As well as great fun.

AllCarCentral's crack photographer, Tim Surman, was on site to record the day and sent us these photos.

British Racing History doesn't start with Donald Healey, but the classic Healey 100 was all about racing.

Going back in time even more to the 1930s, one can find the open wheel E.R.A. cars on the track.

Early racing cars like this E.R.A. were straight forward in design. More of an engineering statement of, "what you see is what you get'

As speeds increased, cars were refined to take advantage of 'air management' to cut down the resistance and improve airflow. The Formula cars were early prime examples of this concept.

Ford Motor Company wanted to go racing and 'show -up' Ferrari at Le Mans so Ford came to England and contracted with Lola to design and build a car around Ford's V8 engine. The result was the GT40 and the rest is history.
