The 2011 Goodwood Revival is billed as "A Magical step back in time", and is the only event of its kind that relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit and is staged entirely in a nostalgic time capsule of the 1940s, 50s and 60s. It is also the biggest and best historic motor racing party of the year.

An additional unique feature; the majority of visitors wear appropriate period clothing and no modern vehicles are allowed within the circuit perimeter throughout the weekend.

Adding to the overall effect, there are also theatrical sets dating to the past life style and an aviation celebration with stunning aerial maneuvers throughout the day noting the history of this WWII former aerodrome. On static display are a fantastic selection of rarely-seen pre-1966 aircraft in the Freddie March 'Spirit of Aviation'.

For three days each September, this historic circuit stages a race meeting for the kind of cars and motorcycles that would have competed at Goodwood during 1948-1966. Many of these important historic racing cars were driven by famous drivers from the sports past and present. Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Sir Jack Brabham, Derek Bell, David Coulthard, Damon Hill, Gerhard Berger, Johnny Herbert, Wayne Gardner, Giacomo Agostini and the late, great Barry Sheene and Phil Hill.

Each year, around 360 cars and motorcycles compete in 16 different races, with race names of historical reference. Entry is by invitation only from the Earl of March.

Highlights at the 2011 Goodwood Revival (16-18 September) include:

A Jaguar E-type-only race to mark 50 years of this important sportscar.

A tribute to Juan Fangio, 100 years after his birth.

A daily track parade of British-built Ford vehicles to honor the century of Ford in Britain.

The 75th anniversary of the Supermarine Spitfire will also be celebrated, with the greatest gathering of these evocative aircraft at Goodwood since the its active duty day as a Battle of Britain RAF Air Base in World War II.
