A Recent announcement ahead of the new season at Goodwood is that for the first time six World Touring Cars are to be competing for a timed run 'shoot out'. The WTCC Goodwood Trophy will include, Sebastien Loeb, Rob Huff and Gabriele Tarquini Yvan Muller and current champion Jose Maria Lopez. The turbo charged saloons generate around 380bhp are designed for circuit racing, so it should be fun watching them on the narrow and bumpy confines of what effectively Lord March's front drive!

Lord March said, "We are delighted to welcome the FIA World Touring Car Championship to The 2016 Festival of Speed. The WTCC is one of the most prestigious motor racing championships in the world and features some of the best drivers. . . I'm sure the timed shoot out on our Hillclimb will prove extremely spectacular."

The Moving Motor Show on Thursday 23rd June, will as usual, open the event, which allows lucky members of the public to take the latest models and the most innovative concepts up the Hillclimb course and out onto the Estate roads for the return trip to the show.

The theme for this year's Festival is, 'Full Throttle - The Endless Pursuit of Power', celebrating the driver's that tamed the most powerful of racing cars and motor-bikes.

Can-Am Cars; McLaren, Shadow,

The 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 and the 50th anniversary of the inaugural round of the Can-Am series cars will also be celebrated in keeping with the theme of the event.

A stunning parade of cars celebrating the achievements of Sir Jack Brabham, as a Driver, Grand Prix World Champion and Constructor, will be the lunchtime focus of the event.
