Goodwood House and Lord March will again host the world famous Festival of Speed, mixing cars, stars and motor sport royalty and all things automotive at this annual Hillclimb event.

Stars and Cars. 2014 Williams Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa and 1996 world champion Damon Hill will be attending this years running of the cars.

A special treat for this years Hillclimb at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

2 Fiat S76 cars were produced back in 1911 for the purpose of gaining the record in the flying kilometre and flying mile, which was held at the time by the 'Blitzen' Benzes.

Driver Pietro Bordino making a run at Saltburn Sands in 1911 gained the mile record.

The Fiat then was officially recorded at over 135mph on a kilometre attempt at Ostenede in Belguim, only to be denied the record as it was unable to complete a return run within the specified one hour.

After 10 years of restoration and a life's journey through Russia and Australia, one of these surviving magnificent cars will make a run up the Hillclimb powered by its previous mate's 28.5-litre, four-cylinder engine.

Confirmed for the Festival of Speed are ex-Formula 1 world champions Emerson Fittipaldi and John Surtees, NASCAR 'king' Richard Petty, rallying's most successful driver, Sebastien Loeb, British Touring Car Champions, Andy Rouse and John Fitzpatrick and grand prix motorcycle champions Giacomo Agostini and Freddie Spencer.

Andy Rouse is set to drive his ICS-liveried Rover SD1 (now owned by Nigel Garrett) that he won the third of his BTCC titles. Andy will race it up Goodwood's 1.16-mile Hillclimb.

The central display at The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a worthy site and a each year, a greater challenge to out-do the last one.

The 2014 display, designed by renowned sculptor Gerry Judah, is being represented as the most spectacular and an architecturally challenging structure and will make homage to a 120 years of achievement in motor sport by Mercedes-Benz.

It is also being noted that 100 years ago at the 1914 French Grand Prix on the dust-covered roads around Lyon, Mercedes racers beat Peugeot in a record historic one-two-three finish. Of the Mercedes GP machines driven then, by Christian Lautenschlager, Louis Wagner and Otto Salzer to that spectacular victory on 4 July a hundred years ago, only three are still in existence. They will all be present at on the lawn for this year's automotive garden party at Goodwood.

'Addicted to Winning - The Unbeatable Champions of Motor Sport' is the notable theme for third 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The goal is to celebrate the most accomplished legendary drivers and riders, teams and manufacturers, who have excelled above all in the sport.

Dominance is the point on which great champions rise above victory to stand out among champions. Bentley's five Le Mans wins in the 1920s, the supremacy of the Silver Arrows in the 1930s and Juan Manuel Fangio's five Formula 1 world titles in the 1950s. Jim Clark and Lotus in the 1960s, Porsche's 16 Le Mans wins between 1970 and 1998, and Sebastien Loeb's nine straight World Rally Championships this Century, all have rewritten the standards of their day.

Also the 2014 Festival pays tribute to many of the sport's greatest two wheel champions like, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini, Kenny Roberts Valentino Rossi and their rides Norton, MV Agusta, Honda and Yamaha.

Indianapolis 500 winners Al Unser and Kenny Brack will be on the grounds. Unser fits right in with "Addicted to winning: The unbeatable champions of motor sport" with his four victories at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway..

Brack, Sweden's most successful racing driver of his generation won the Indy Racing League title in 1998 and a victory at the Indy 500 the following season.

Lec CRP1 F1 1977 Car
One of Formula 1's forgotten machines, the Lec CRP1, will turn a wheel in anger for the first time in over 35 years at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26-29.

Lec debuted its self-produced, Ford Cosworth-engined CRP1 in 1977, having used fridge door-shaping machinery to manufacture the bodywork panels of the car during quiet nights. Its highlight came at the Belgian GP at Zolder, which Purley led from Niki Lauda briefly before falling back to finish 13 th .
