PROLOGUE:
The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed is looking to host over 100 top drivers, at its famous Park.
An American based treat will be in the form of a class of famous Pikes Peak hillclimb cars and drivers. The Pikes Peak Hillclimb based in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
For reference, the Hillclimb which these specialized cars run, is 12.42 mi (19.99 km) over 156 turns, climbing 4,720 feet (1,440 m) from the start on Pikes Peak Highway, to the finish at 14,110 feet (4,300 m), on grades averaging 7%. The track (highway) is both paved and gravel. (It will soon be paved the full distance). 2011 over all record is 9:51.278 minutes.
