May 2, 2010 at Infineon Raceway northern California came with bright sunshine and perfect temperatures just right for racing and Ferrari viewing. The only thing that seemed to be missing was money. Yes, even in the high dollar world of exotic cars, the down economy is lurking in the back ground. This all led to a lower turn out both in the field and around the track.

The parts that were not effected by the economy were the quality of the completion on the track and the first class Ferrari show. This is still, in this writers opinion, the best type of racing to watch. Dedicated car drivers, not untouchable superstars, driving cars because they enjoy it. Best race viewing for the money.

The Ferrari Club showed up in great numbers and provided an infield of shine, along with patient owners explaining their cars special attributes. They were awarded with a lap of the track.

The one part that was missing which is always a great show was the vintage cars. Granted the supporting race events such as the FXX cars and the F1 cars that show up at various tracks around the world are not an annual event at each track but the vintage cars have, in the past, been always eager to run at every opportunity. Maybe next year.
