The FIA GT1 World Championship, FIA GT3 European Championship and the Blancpain Endurance Series came together at the same weekend at the Nürburgring.
It was Round 5 of the series in 2012.
Overcast, but dry track, the Race was breathtaking. After 3 hours of Racing, the gap of the first three cars were just 18 seconds.
Car No. 75 with Marc Goossens, Xavier Maassen and Marc Hennerici finished first (Porsche 997 GT3 R). Second place just 5 seconds behind was gone to car No. 18 with Congfu Cheng, Mike Parisy and Jeroen Bleekemolen (Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3). Third place was car No. 66, driven by Gregory Franchi, Mathias Lauda and Frank Kechele (BMW Z4).
The Audi R8 LMS Ultra, driven by Ludwig, Premat and Rast chasing No. 74, the Porsche 997 GT3 R of Derdaele, van Splunteren and Soulet
No. 71 Ferrari F458 Italia of Rigon, Gattuso and Zampieri at the Michael-Schumacher S Curve
No. 88 McLaren MP4-12C of british Driverteam Price, Groger and Barff
Ferrari F458 Italia, driven by Lanchere, O'Brien and Despinasse chased by Audi R8 LMS, driven by Belshaw, Wilkins and Christodoulou
Finally the best placed Ferrari at the end of the Race (12th place overall). No. 20 Ferrari F458 Italia driven by Goueslard,Beaubelique and Badey
Fith place after a hard fight during the Race. No. 40 Audi R8 LMS Ultra, driven by Hirschi, Guilvert and Lunardi
The Porsche 997 GT3 R of Team SMG, driven by Eric Clement, Olivier Pla and Nicolas Armindo
