Desert Concorso 2014 Car Show

The 2014 Desert Concorso was set up on the Shadow Mountain Resort Golf fairway in Palm Desert, Just south of the older more famous Palm Springs, California.

As I came out of our Palm Springs motel room in the morning it was very evident that there had been some serious desert winds during the night. Palm tree bits were all over the place. My Porsche was completely covered in a layer of sand. The wind was still blowing in gusts marked with brown sand.

As we made our way to the Shadow Mountain Resort the area seemed to be somewhat protected from the mayhem that was going on just a few miles north. A good Sign.

We were early and had a good access to the field that was already in place with ID. cards in most cars. The good people who put on the Concorso Italiano each year at Monterey had decided to expand the field of cars to include other makes, but that did not prevent a more than fantastic collection of Italian made machines scattered all around the lawn.

I was pleased to see that the brown clouds of flying sand stayed well north of us, however there was sand in the air and all the cars on the lawn were completely dusted.
