So a friend commented once that some of the photos taken at my last visit to the Belgian Autoworld museum were a bit, well, plebian, straight ahead car photos ... so I thought I’d try to be a bit more arty this time, however when I got back to review the pics I was a little startled at the result, they made me fell, a little bit, well, dirty, like I’d been a very naughty boy indeed ...

I do think this poor Porsche car, with her slightly dishabilled nose skirt had a reasonable expectation of privacy sitting quietly in the parking lot, don’t you? Brussels cobbles can be absolute murder on your nose ...
There was a reason to visit this day, a special exhibit of Belgian pride and prowess, we’ve made some fast track drivers and track driving and times is a serious passion that we’ve engaged in for some time ...
Little bit of colour coordination with the belgain national colors ... growl! But with too much black, the upskirt was not getting anywhere ...

You know, it really is hard to practice this type of photography with low riding race cars, this may not be one of the legenday 'art cars' by alexander calder, bout it coulda been ...
And an artfully placed roof line prevents any untowards images ...
Giving up on the race cars, not working well, there is a special VW exhibit ... and the swoopies on this early prototype are quite, well, ermmmm ...
One thing I really do love about the Belgian AutoWorld museum, these cars do get out on the roads and they are not shy about leaving small bits of oil behind, it keeps the workings well protected from rust in our rather humid environment ...
Bit of a boring shot, but they are showing the evolution of the VW beetle ...
OK, maybe this is taking voyourisme to an extra level, not sure if this is a hoopskirt model or if it is more of an anatomical sketch ... but you can see why the VW beetle was so popular with dune buggy and other home-modifiers, with a basic floor pan you could build almost anything you like up top ... errr, maybe that did not come out correctly ...
Awww ... nice one ... but the ceramic oil catching cup is not quite sufficient ...

Yummy lines on an early auto union (now audi) ... with a design history like this, how come so many of the new audi’s appear for all the world like elongated bread boxes? Oh, maybe because this appears a blatant ripoff and mélange of other’s design elements of the day ...
As they say, you cannot buy patina, but, well, the sweetie has seen better days but the quality of the bones show very nicely ...

The little BMW Isetta is always a curiousity and with an open door, well, one has to see the picture of Cary Grant stepping out of it to really understand ...
The plastic tins to catch the motor oil usually have a bit of cat litter in them, however austerity measures such as they are, we’ve had to forgo the litter ... but if you need a rescue the yellow touring bike is on its way with a puncture kit, a bit of fuel, a quick charge, or some motor oil to get you on down the road ...
Back on the parking lot the local racer boyz are still back in the museum, but here is an Abarth Fiat punto and BMW’s new 1 series that has been getting a lot of attention lately... the amateur car set is still alive and well in Belgium
